Essential Egypt Workshop Series: Shamadans & Zeffah

Qabila Foundation is excited to announce a Bay Area workshop series with our artistic director~ Aubre Hill!!!

This five month series will focus on Egyptian folkloric dance, history, and cultural context. The third Tuesday of each month start April 16th 7:30-9:30pm!!!

ESSENTIAL EGYPT~

Workshops will start with a short lecture covering foundation, history, and evolution within bellydance. We will then progress into a warmup, posturing, technique, and cultural context of dance. Open to ALL levels! All workshops will be held at Bliss Fitness 4268 Broadway, Oakland 94611

$35 pre-registration each/$40 at the door or $150 for all 5!!!

Qabila Folkdance Co Bay Area chapter is AUDITIONING! We are looking for new dancers, all genders to join the Arabic folkdance adventure!!!

Some dance experience recommended. Regional folkdance training is given to all members, prior experience with these dances is not required. We do require a love for Arabic music & dance and community spirit to be part of this supportive and hard working team. Members are required to attend weekly rehearsals Sundays 12:30-2:30pm and pay monthly dues of $40 to help cover company costs. Costumes, props, and training are provided.

Now expanded into two chapters, Qabila has dance companies in both Los Angeles and the Bay Area. We are definitely not in Kansas anymore! Join a beautiful cast of dancers as we travel over the rainbow with Jillina's BDEx Presents: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Inspired by world fusion and Middle Eastern dance traditions, Jillina's BDExperience reimagines this classic tale, incorporating Oriental Bellydance, Tribal Fusion and Folkloric dance to an original score by Paul Dinletir and featuring new music by Khader Ahmad. The Emerald City has never been quite this enchanting. So take a journey along the yellow brick road into a world of color at movement at the Colony Theatre in Burbank, CA.
